“This is real racing”. It’s a bold claim to make, as both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners have access to two big name titles that also pride themselves in providing “real racing” thrills. Judging from the various trailers that have been released, Shift 2’s claims might not be bluster though as it’s looking fantastic.
Is this on anyone’s pre-order list?

No denying it looks great, but can any new driving game better GT5 for a the realism of driving? Perhaps we will be waiting (a long time) for GT6 to better GT5.

Doubt it, GT5 is the real driving simulator.
Racing, however, is an altogether different thing.

Very true. I think racing online with GT5 is great, shame the AI is too stale and predictable in offline races.

I don’t like racing sims, usually find them extremely boring – but I can’t wait for this.
I like the sound of what they’re doing when they said they had to hold back on Shift1 because it was the only NfS game out that year, but now thanks to both NfSHP & the Nov 2011 NfS it means they don’t have to make compromises with Shift2.

Never got the first and I don’t think I’ll bother with this one, purely because I can’t afford it. I’m quite content with GT5 and Hot Pursuit for now, and then LBP2, KZ3 and a few others are beating it on my wish list.

For me it would be day one but it depends on the release date as they might be a really good game on the same day or not, so guess I’ll have to wait until then.

I may get it a few months after release, I find the trouble with it is that it’s not as realistic as GT but it’s not as stupid as a typical arcade racer, it hovers in the middle, well more towards the realistic half but it’s still hovering. I guess it will be good but it’s not top of my pre-order list.
