Dead Space Co-creator Talks About Possible Movie

If you’re interested in the world of Dead Space beyond the two main games, you’ve likely been pleased with what we’ve been given so far.  We’ve seen everything from animated films to comics and novels, and it looks like you might be about to get another slice of Necromorph pie via a Dead Space movie.

The rumors of a live-action film have been swirling for a while, and there was even a director named a couple of years back, but everything has went silent since then.

Regardless of when it comes, you’ll be happy to know that if Dead Space does make it to the big screen, it’ll be done properly.  While speaking with BBC, Dead Space Co-creator, Ian Milham, had this to say.

“We would love to have a live action film and we’ve had a lot of discussion.

But one of the reasons Dead Space still exists and is popular is because we’ve made sure to do everything right.

So we’re doing the same with the film, not just a cheap cash-in but to do something really worthwhile, so we’ll see.”

Cross your fingers that this project does see the light of day, and that it meets the level of quality we’ve come to expect from the games.

  1. Nice, i would check this out. Though not on my own!! If it happens then hopefully its done right.

  2. so let’s start ‘Who’s playing Isaac?’ hmmm let’s hope it is not he who’s name we don’t speak.

    • The guy who, in a heavy bout of retardation, decided to name himself after fuel?

      • Someone without enough vanity to do away with the helmet, Stallone in Judge Dredd, I’m frowning at you!

      • Respect to shields-t for that comment.

There’s a slot reserved on imdb for a Dead Space movie, has been for a while.

      • Please not Vin Diesel, his only decent role has been as the Iron Giant! :D

I’d quite like them to go with a relative or total unkown, or failing that Sam Rockwell, with elements of his role in Moon. Reckon he’d be a good pick personally.

  3. This could actually work, more-so than a lot of of game movies because for one thing, it’s a small cast and the setting is completely theoretical.

  4. If it’s done right I would definately like to see this. There has been far too many game to movie adaptations that are clearly cash-ins and not thought through well enough.

The apparent Mass Effect movie is doing it right – get the developers involved in the production of the film. What could go wrong!…apart from trying to fit a 40 hour game into a 2+ hours film.

  5. right i think i’ll get the ball rolling……..Nathan Fillion for isaac clarke!! ha!

  6. Cool, i like the animated movies, so if they could keep to that, it should be good
