Super Mario Bros. 3DS Confirmed

Good news for fans of platform games, as a new Super Mario Bros. game for the 3DS has been confirmed by Shigeru Miyamoto. The last Super Mario Bros. games on the Wii and DS were absolutely fantastic, so hopes are already high for what’s to come.

Miyamoto had the following to say:

“In the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system.

I also think it’s important to always use the most advanced technology for Mario in order to create something no one has ever seen before. Of course, it’s important to make sure people still say things like “Falling down the holes is the most fun!” but something new is necessary for other aspects of the games, and it’s those new elements that make a Super Mario Bros. game what it is.”

Pleased as punch.

  1. ohhh a ds and mario game. would never of dreamt that one lmao.. i wana know about killzone 3 open beta. can i get it from us store a day earlier than the stupid country i live in they call uk?

    • I suggest that if you are looking for Killzone 3 info, you don’t look in an article titled ‘Super Mario Bros. 3DS confirmed’.

      • hahahaha i knew that was coming.

      • Well, it’s a valid point. The news team will post info about KZ3 as and when it pops up, but TSA also covers the other consoles and a bit of PC gaming too, so you can expect them to report on that stuff too as it appears.

just hold onto your horses. Common sense would dictate that the US is getting the KZ3 open beta a day before the EU, because that’s how the stores update these days.

  2. New Super Mario struck the perfect balance between old and new. If they can pull that off again with the added pressure of not looking like they are cashing in on that games success they will have a winner. It’s a tricky place to get to though

  3. Well it was only a matter of time

  4. common sence aside teflon how would i know an american beta will be assecable from the eu store?

  5. :O not so shocked

  6. Are all “Super Mario Bros.” titled games retro side scrollers? Because I was hoping for a 3D environment based mario Game… hence the title of the console 3DS…
