Killzone 2 was furnished with a pair of Killzone maps and equally Killzone 3 will receive two Killzone 2 maps, namely the Salamum Market and Blood Gracht. The maps will be available as part of the Collector’s and Helghast Editions of Killzone 3, or as a pre-order bonus for the standard edition from an as-yet-unannounced retailer. Presumably the pack will also be available via the PSN.
Each map has been updated for Killzone 3 to take advantage of the threequel’s features. Guerilla have released the following description:
SALAMUN MARKET
Game Type: Warzone (24 Players)
Description: One of the largest maps from Killzone 2, Salamun Market has been re-balanced for maximum Killzone 3 carnage. After the Helghast ambush an ISA convoy on its main road, the whole market becomes a Warzone. Nostalgia meets brand-new Exoskeleton combat on this classic multiplayer map!
BLOOD GRACHT
Game Type: Guerrilla Warfare (16 Players)
Description: Months after the nuclear blast that ruined most of the city, Blood Gracht is slowly being reclaimed by Helghan’s strange plant life. But when Guerrilla Warfare breaks out between ISA and Helghast troops, the canals once again run red with blood. The fan-favorite multiplayer map from Killzone 2 makes a triumphant return!

Quite pleased with those two. Blood Gracht was my favourite and I didn’t mind Salamun Market. I would probably have preferred Radec Academy instead though.

That map has been played to death.. I mean over 50% of the servers played it.. I’m glad to be rid of that stupid map -.-

Endless grenades, rockets and sentry guns. Hated Radec unless it was Pistol only.
BIGAL-1992
I remember salamun market, but I can’t remember Blood gratch.

It’s the small one with the dried canal/river

Awful for 32 player matches but perfect for 16 so very happy that they have capped this level.
Also loved going down to the market, my favorite map from online…and now with Exoskeletons, hell yeah!
Colinbarr66
Two very good maps, I approve.

Funny how when the COD DLC contains a couple of old maps along with some new ones, some people go mental!
I remember Salaman Market being quite a good map, and and what was the dusty + windy desert called?

Probably only £4.79(the KZ2 map pack cost) for maps that have also been ‘rebalanced’ or lower, unlike £10.99 for quickly ported CoD maps.

It’s called pyrrhus rise, and it depends on the pricing of the maps but we’ll have to wait and see for that

i used to call it snipers alley.
Salamum Market one of my favs, plus nostalgic, as was 1st map i played in kz2 beta.

Pyrrhus Rise, I loved being shot from a mile away be snipers on that map. Although, great for spawn traps.

It completely depends on the pricing. I plan on buying the steelbook, which will have these two maps included. If it’s more than £3.19 for the maps on PSN, then it will be costing more than it’s worth.
However, I’m fairly glad that some of the KZ2 maps are making the jump.

Which are the two maps from the L.E.?

I think I’m one of the few who didn’t really take a fancy to Killzone 2. The gunplay was a little cumbersome and the online felt too slow and not rewarding enough. I managed to hit top rank within a few days, and never found a reason to go back to play more. With that said, I’m pumped to get my hands on the KZ3 beta which will ultimately decide whether I end up buying this.

They did add more ranks after a while but i guess many had already stopped by then. The last rank took me over 300 hours to get to :)
And personally i liked the slowness, made it very tactical but i can see why some people didn’t like it
BLAGGER
If you had given it a little time you would have realised that it wasn’t just about reaching the top rank.
Top rank was about unlocking all the classes, then it was about collecting ribbons (by performing class based abilities) so that you could mix and match and eventually customise your classes. This was where the game takes shape through team work and developing strategies using the abilities that you unlock.
I know a lot of people who left the game when they became General stating that there was no reward, but the reward comes from the gameplay that followed…
KeRaSh
I completely agree with you except for the part about KZ3… :)

I loved Saluman Market, and the other one is pretty good. Happy they didn’t choose Radec.
Matty
I love both of these maps especially Salamun Market

This is old news…
They announced this in the “Killzone 3 Bundle” or what ever it’s called.

Thanks TSA – great news to hear this.
KZ3/R3 both looking stunning. The only shooters with any substence in my opinion….
