GAME BAFTAs Revealed, Brotherhood Nommed Seven Times

The Academy has today announced the nominations for the GAME BAFTAs. In total there’s 44 different games up for nomination, with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood topping the lot with seven nominations.

[boxout]Black Ops is in there too, and it’s nice to see Heavy Rain up for artistic achievement, although with LIMBO up for the same award our money’s on the little black and white dude.

In a rather shameless lack of better ideas, here’s the entire list nicely formatted.  It took me a while, so if you ‘borrow’ the list, at least give us a nod.  Thanks!

  1. No mgs peace walker?

  2. Wonderful, I get to do some red carpet coverage at last.

  3. So no Artistic, Story, or GoTY noms for Enslaved? *Rage*

  4. I can’t decide what’s more ridiculous out of FIFA 11 for best game or Black Ops for artistic achievement. Seriously, who came up with this list, a 14 year old franchise sucker? While I’m sure Black Ops isn’t that bad, there are so many games that deserve those nominations much more. Brotherhood, however, is pretty damn good.

It’s like the film BAFTAs all over again – The King’s Speech winning more than twice the awards than Inception? Hmmm

    • ugh, shoulda got more sleep. I didn’t realise how incohesive that comment was

  5. a complete joke. It almost felt like someone randomly picked 5 or so games then just repeated the list for each category. It really makes 2010 look like a bad year for games if the same games come up for every category, and those games aren’t particularly innovative or generally good.

  6. LIMBO ftw. Was dying to play this game from the 1st screen shot & it didn’t dissapoint.

  7. this must be a joke, fifa 11 best game, Call of duty black ops best story, 1 nomination for red dead rredemption in the public vote , GT5 only 1 nomination. AC Brotherhood and god of war 3 both top drawer and should be on the lists but it seems this is men in suits with little or no interest in gaming that took a list of the top selling games of 2010 and thought this game can be nominated in these categories, this game in these etc etc. gaming still isn’t taken as seriously as a form of entertainment such as the film industry is and are BAFTA just taking the pi$$ with some of these nomination’s and trying to prove the point that film rules the entertainment industry or what.

  8. Hopefully the voting panel will see sense and give Heavy Rain the credit it deserves, in reflection of the TSA awards.

  9. Good to see tt games get some recognition for the great work with LEGO Harry Potter. Would have liked to see Medal of Honour get something for the brilliant sound.

  10. TSA should do a comp for the person who guesses the most correct winners.
