God of War Developers Join ‘Respawn’

Although they’ve yet to even announce the first title they’re working on, Respawn Entertainment is already well known amongst the gaming community. As you’ve likely already heard, the two heads of the studio, Vince Zampella and Jason West, were involved in a major controversy with Activision which led to them forming their own studio. While we still don’t know what they’re working on, we do know that there are at least two God of War developers that now have their hands on deck. NowGamer is reporting that Justin Hendry and Robert Taube have joined the team at Respawn, both leaving Sony Santa Monica in the process. While Robert Taube’s role is not yet known, Justin Hendry will be taking the role of a ‘Senior Designer’ which is the same spot he filled while working for Sony.

Whatever it is Respawn is working on, it must be pretty big. By my way of thinking, you don’t leave a job working for one of the bigger studios in the gaming industry who created one of the greatest games we’ve seen this generation for nothing.

  1. Hope it isn’t a shooter, like seriously I hope not…

  2. I will start caring about this studio once I’ve seen a game from them. They can say what they want about the way the company treated them, but I’m sure West and Zampella’s wallets are fatter than most developers. They have Activision to thank for that.
