Writing on the Medal of Honor blog, executive producer of the recently-rebooted franchise Greg Goodrich has confirmed that the Danger Close team is indeed working on a new entry in the series.
Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor.
Just recently, EA announced that the reboot of Medal of Honor was a big success with over 5 million copies sold. We wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting us, our new studio and our storied franchise. We would especially like to thank all of the long time Medal of Honor fans out there who have stuck with us over the years.
Since our launch last October, we’ve studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title. We can’t wait to tell you more about it, so check back often to the website and the fan page on Facebook.
As you all know, our goal was to tell the story of today’s soldier and to do so with the utmost respect and reverence. We’ve received many letters, emails and messages from active servicemen and women from around the world, along with veterans and their families, with appreciation for our recent depiction of their community. I can’t tell you how important this is to everyone here at Danger Close Games. You are the heartbeat of this team and this franchise and we are privileged and honored to tell your story. Medal of Honor has always been fueled by the passion of our fans and the commitment and sacrifice shown by the men and women of our armed services.
It looks like whatever the next entry of the series will entail, it will at least stick with the modern day setting of 2010’s title. The last game was announced in December for an October release, so if the follow-up is aiming for a 2011 launch we could see an announcement any time now, as Goodrich seems to be hinting at in his blog post. What’ll be interesting to see is how Medal of Honor is positioned by EA with relation to Battlefield 3, which is also supposed to be out before the year is out.

It’s amazing how its sold 5m copies but after a couple of weeks didn’t trouble the sales charts

I had it for a few days with bad Company 2. I couldn’t even play it oddly… if it was two years ago I probably would but the games I play now are so more demanding than what a FPS delivers :(

Single player campaign was great – if a little short.
Multiplayer was OK, but my friends didn’t get into it so it fell by the wayside for me. I liked the maps and the game modes especially Combat Mission. The game was ruined by snipers though..
I suspect Battlefield 3 will command more of EA’s marketing budget in Q3 and Q4 and MOH2 will likely fail its sales target.

5 million copies? Seriously?
I was unimpressed by the lack of any storyline in SP and MP just had no atmosphere at all.

Never got round to trying this, some of the reviews going around put me off.
Nice to see the game do well though.
