Hudson Announce First Two 3DS Titles

Hudson have announced their first two Nintendo 3DS titles in the form of Sports Island and Sodoku Collection.

The former, a ten sport compendium, will offer four player multiplayer over Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Sumo Wrestling, Bowling, Snowmobile Racing, Sport Blowgun, Trampolining and, everyone’s favourite sport, Snowball Fighting. Konami have promised that each game will make “stunning” use of the additional depth of field the 3DS offers.

In addition, players can expect special power-ups called “Super Play” actions, which allow the ability to use a heavier ball in Tennis, or jump higher in Basketball.

Hudson’s other game, Sudoku: The Puzzle Game Collection, will actually be a compilation of puzzle styles including Hashi (Bridges), Shikaku (Boxes), Akrai (Museum) and, of course, traditional Sudoku, all devised by Nokoli, who the PR says is a world-famous puzzle maker.

Of more interest is the way Sodoku will make use of Play Coins, Nintendo’s new system that will allow the 3DS to rack up points as it’s carried around, which can be traded in inside the game.

Sodoku’s out in May, and Sports Island the month after.

  1. Not the best of Hudson IMO….

  2. sudoku?
well, that’ll make good use of the 3ds’s capabilities wont it?

and i bet they’ll charge a premium price for it seeing as it’s a 3ds title.
there, classic time wasters for a budget price. :)

    Mah Jong

seriously, who hasn’t wasted hours playing solitaire?

  3. So Hudson shut one of their studios (forgive me, I can’t remember which & cba to search for the article) & then develop what I consider to be crap/shovelware/whatever you want to call it.

Can’t help but think that a 3DS rendition of Bomberman would have been a much better use of their time!

  4. aren’t these compilation pack games supposed to come out towards the end of a console’s life, not at the beginning?
