Activision, bouyant about today’s launch of the first map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops dubbed First Strike, has claimed that the core game is the “best-selling PlayStation 3 title ever” as part of a press release.
Citing NPD, ChartTrack and GfK as the sources, the publisher’s claims aren’t hard to believe.
“The First Strike map pack significantly expands the intense experience for the millions of fans enjoying Call of Duty: Black Ops on the PlayStation 3 every day,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch.
“Across each of First Strike’s multiplayer maps and the newest Zombie level, we have created unique experiences that will appeal to everyone playing online in the PSN Call of Duty community around the world.”

I quite enjoyed the single player campaign, and the online to me seems to be better after their last fixes. Still have some very frustrating lag issues from time to time

Fair play – its the game that everyone can play and knows whether you are a gamer through and through or just passing through.
Its not surprising, people that dont even game know what Call of Duty is.
It might be the best seller, but as far as quality goes its no where near the top.

Bestselling does not equal best.

“Activision Claim Best Selling PS3 Game, Ever.”
This is probably the most obvious article ever.

Kanye West says “Yo Activision, I’m really happy for you, and I’mma let you finish…but Metal Gear Solid 4 was one of the greatest games of all time….one of the greatest games of all time!”

Such power in the CoD brand. I wonder how long they can keep it up? I’m particularly interested to see what Activision turn out this year.

well maybe it is the best selling ps3 game, but that doesnt make it the best game for the ps3. Killzone 3 instantly grabbed me as better than COD straight away, not saying COD was bad because Treyarch got it spot on with Black Ops but Killzone just seemed sharper, better looking, more immersive and scaled much bigger. And Ray Winstone was in it :)
