Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Teaser Trailer

Capcom has just released a teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The game was recently announced for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC and focuses on multiplayer.

Operation Raccoon City is a team based shooter that serves as a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. You play as an Umbrella operative trying to eliminate any evidence of the T-Virus. Capcom promises that we’ll see the return of classic Resident Evil enemies, including zombies.

Check out the debut trailer below, featuring a brief cameo from Leon Kennedy. He just so happens to be one of your primary targets.

  1. This is a brilliant example of Capcom listening to its fans and greenlighting a game that everyone wants to play and was asking for.

    Right? Erm.

    • I’ve been crying for a new Resident Evil Outbreak game ever since they killed off the servers in North America. I loved that game so much ;(

This might be the closest thing to it ;P

    • Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but I’m quite looking forward to it! :P The ‘Outbreak’ series they did had potential but the fact it was on PS2 limited it quite a lot. Hopefully now we have (reasonably) reliable PSN services as well as game chat, etc this could be really good

      • It was meant to be sarcasm but also tongue in cheek cause obviously whilst there will be the few people who are looking for a game that revisits a location the series’ has already been to and focusses on multiplayer, I for one think its a god damn awful idea and they should focus on bringing survival horror back in SINGLE player.

Atleast they can be applauded on bringing back actual zombies. I guess.

    • how is it a bad idea exactly? we’ve had the slow paced zombie survival horror done to death, we’ve never had a game taking part as a military team sent in to a zombie infested city (and no COD does not count)

I hope this is third person in the style of uncharted/socom 4 beta, but with short ammo supplies and lots and lots and lots and lots of zombies (did I say lots?) but not in the same way Dead Rising did it, as that was too many for a decent framerate.

this could be one of the best Resident Evil franchises if they just make sure they do it right.

  2. I hope Slant Six games will have learned from their mistakes of the past as their previous games have been utter shat

  3. Wow – this looks good!

  4. I hope CAPCOM are doing a real Resident evil game for 2012.

  5. Looks like a modified Socom engine from the short clips of gameplay. Could be very interesting…

  6. I think this will be sort of like the Left 4 Dead series in a way, such as hordes of zombies while moving to a mission objective. I just cant wait till the re-release of Resi 4 & Code veronica in HD.

  7. L4D anyone??

  8. Looks like Dead Nation with camera dynamics going haywire

  9. I’m interested, not exactly what I want (I want full classic survival horror) but nice to see the Zombies return and the Raccoon City location has my interest.

I may be in the minority here but never really been a massive fan of both Resi 4 and 5. They didn’t feel all that like a Resi game that much. Veronica was my last great Resi.

  10. Excited about this game. Think Capcom will pull it off
