New Forza 4 Trailer Surfaces

A new trailer for Forza 4 has hit the web and while we would traditionally be jumping up and down for joy due to the awesomeness it entails, the date in which it surfaced has us approaching with caution. To be fair, it looks 100% legitimate and had it revealed itself on any other day outside of April 1, we probably never would’ve thought twice about it. That said, we’re not sure where this video originated from so we’re still flagging it as a rumor for now.

Assuming it is real, Forza 4 is looking like it’ll be the real deal, just as its predecessor was. More cars, more tracks and Kinect support are all boasted and the small amount of actual gameplay they show looks top notch. Have a look for yourself and let us know whether you think it’s real, or perhaps the most detailed and expertly crafted ‘fool’ of this year.

Update: It seems that the video has been removed due to a copyright claim by Microsoft. So it is real then?

  1. Is that Tom Hanks?

  2. At last, someone realises that lighting & loads of other effects create far better image quality than just turning the res up to 1080 on its own.
    Looks great

Saw a great interview with Criterion I think who said it would be very interesting to see what grfx would look like if the res was turned down to well below HD but the extra resources were used to turning the effects dial up to 11, it would probably look better high res graphics which push the system but leave little room for advanced lighting techniques etc

    • “At last, someone realises that lighting & loads of other effects create far better image quality than just turning the res up to 1080 on its own.” That’s only if your TV applies filters to it so it looks upscaled, otherwise (raw HDMI source) it will never look any close.

  3. coming from a hardcore GT fan. wow. although I don’t think they’ll be able to deliver at this quality. the end result tends to not be as good as concept (?) footage. Although they may have to sacrifice stuff to get it this far… or base it on F3 in which case GT6 will wipe the floor with it.

    • It’s a cat and mouse game now. GT5 was better than Forza 3, this will probably be better still, then GT6 will beat it and so on*

*Assuming GT6 is released a little sooner than 5 was!

      • I think it was either Polyphony or Kaz himself that said the wait for GT6 will be much shorter than GT5, so I recon 2012-13.

      • Yeah, now Kaz has got the next gen engine, it will only need tweaks as opposed to wholesale development. I can see GT6 with 100% premium cars being a lot shorter dev time

  4. It is very polished but it seems to be an awfully long and in-depth video for this early in the development cycle.

    Oh and STOP SAYING FORT-ZA!

  5. It’s looking very good, but will it as a racing sim beat GT5? For that it’s going to have more than just a pretty face and kinect-support. We’ll just have to wait and see.

  6. When i click on video it just comes up removed due to copyright claim by microsoft, shame would of loved to have seen F4 in action.

    Jason.

  7. looks real to me.
one feature of forza that i’ve always been impressed with was how much could be done with the graphics editor for the cars, some of the artwork i’ve seen created was just amazing.

shame ms chose to restrict access to the online auction house to gold subscribers, in forza 2 anyway, don’t know about 3.

as far as the kinect features are concerned, not interested, i’ve seen these explore the car type features in other games, making you get up to use it in forza 4 is not innovative.

and as for actually racing using kinect?
    just, no.

  8. Meh, still on GT5 thank you very much
