Spyro The Dragon was once seen as one of the most influential characters PlayStation had, back in the days of the original PlayStation. Unfortunately for Spyro, development of the series has changed hands about 10 different times and Activision marks the sixth different publisher everyone’s favorite purple dragon has had. The series has had a few missteps along the way but Activision, as a publisher, is perfectly capable of helping to right the ship. Below we have a batch of new screenshots from the newest Spyro game, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventures. Developed by Toys for Bob, this new adventure will take the series in a new direction and the script for the game was actually written by a couple of writers who worked on the first Toy Story movie, so it seems like the series may be in good hands.
Time will tell and although there’s not firm release date for Europe yet, you can expect it to hit shelves later this year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and 3DS. Check out the screens below and be sure to leave us your thoughts.

This game looks pretty colourful and could actually be decent.
now all you have to do is remove spyro, replace him with mario and youve got a pretty decent game.
