According to some internet rumours this morning, Sony’s newest version of the PSP might have had its production halted. Of course, the PSPGo has been dead at retail for a long time, even though it’s less agile stablemates still sell reasonable figures, worldwide. So, are Sony finally pulling the plug on the restrictive little slider?
According to Andriasang, there’s a blog which appears to be run by someone with extensive knowledge of Sony’s production and supply. They’re saying that no more units will be delivered to Sony stores and we assume that means no more to third party retailers too.
Hopefully, if true, this will free up production facilities to get some serious work done on making sure there are enough NGP units at launch to satisfy what is bound to be a huge demand.

I really like my Go but I agree with everything that has already been said about the pricing of the games and poor retail sales as a result. Most of the games I bought on it have been in the weekly sales and using £20 psn cards bought for £15-18 from places like Zavvi.com, so it hasn’t really cost me an arm and a leg though as some may expect.
I think the only game I paid full price for on there was Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

Why buy a Go when you could get the Xperia Play? It’s like a Go but with a phone as well.

Anything that frees up resources/facilities to produce the NGP is fine with me. Really hoping that it’s released in the US this year.

With the situation in Japan it could just be a temporary stop in production. There is a severe shortage of parts from Japan that’s affecting the whole world of electronics, understandably so.
Wait and see I say.

In my eyes the psp was doomed due to the lack of top class games for it. Over an 10 year period what games was bought out for it? MGS Peace Walker, GOW, Rachet and Clank, Monster Hunt, Final Fantasy Tactics and Crysis Core, GTA series, Resistance and Sypron Filter over ten years which is shocking tbh, I don’t think pricing got anything to do with it as customers will pay if they feel if it was worth it and the PSP in truth wasn’t worth the retail price!

Was 3rd Birthday released in the UK PSN for the PSPGO? I may pick one up on the cheap if I can play that game
