Disclaimer: There is no source for these screens.
We have no idea where they are from originally and they are very blurry and almost certainly fabricated – some have said they look like a modded version of GTA IV or Vice City and the title screen’s just an image from Google.
They appeared this morning on online retailer ShopTo’s news blog. However, the first image looks suspiciously like Niko, and that motion blur’s almost too Photoshop, so we’re calling fake.
Earlier on in the month there were rumours GTAV would be a Wii exclusive but recent events would indicate a Wii 2 release and a release date of January 15th 2012 was spotted on Gamestop.
What do you think?

These screens are obvious fakes that can be done in Photoshop with ease. The splash screen is simply a fan-made splash image that has been positioned against a photo of the persons TV screen, and the actual gameplay screenshot is taken straight from GTA IV, with blurred effects added using Photoshop to hide that fact. Both of these can easily be achieved via the use of PhotoShop.
Fact is, blur effects like that are only possible with a slow shutter speed using a DSLR camera, and you don’t need a low shutter speed when taking pictures of a television screen or else the screen would just look like a bright light in the photo.
Verdict: Fake.

What is Rockstar doing ? There were 3 major GTA games on the PS2 ( GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas ) and 2 spin-offs ( LCS and VCS ) which are 5 GTA games on the PS2 alone.
We have only had 1 major GTA game this gen and 2 expansion packs.
I don’t want the series to be milked but I need some GTA goodness :(

Do the people who originally published these photographs really think that people will be drawn in to believe them? For all of the reasons mentioned (the blur, looking a bit like Niko) these have to be fake.
