David O Russell Walks From Uncharted Movie

David O Russell has left the Uncharted movie project, according to Variety.

“Insiders tell Variety the split was amicable and due to creative differences on the project,” says the site, “which is an adaptation of the popular videogame.”

The studio are beginning the search for a new writer today.  We suggest they look in an old abandoned submarine.

There’s no other details yet, other than a collective sigh of relief from fans of the game.

Not us, though, we’re entirely unbiased.

  1. My vote goes to Joe Johnston who knows how direct adventure films (he’s making Captain Amaeruca look very good!), and of course, you have to bring in Fillion for Nathan Drake

  2. That guy in Bones on sky Booth dunno his real name he would be good as drake

    • That’s a good shout, David Boreanaz or something I think. Good actor and I think he has the right style and presence to pull it off.

      • Hell yeah. Get Angel to be drake. Mind you, I’ve never seen Boreanaz play someone upbeat and non-broody. That said, I’ve only ever watched half an episode, what do I know?

      There’s no way this movie will do justice on NDs work, this tard Russel or not…

    • They need to get rid of the family angle as i would imogen that Drake would want to keep his family out of his adventures. The only thing the movie will do justice to Uncharted is the graphics. They will be life like.:op i would say cancel it,burn any peice of evidence that this existed.

  8. I hope this is a case where he wanted it to be a mafia film and the other writers were like no way and not the other way round. I really do hope that they are researching the Uncharted series. I swear if this turns out like that POS FF:spirits within or the Super Mario brothers movie,they will face the wrath of the Uncharted fans. On the other hand if it stays true to the lore and story of Uncharted,it would prove that there are some capable directors/writers who know how to make an excellent video game based movie unlike a certain director whose name shall not be said on here.
