Atlus has just announced that The King of Fighters XIII will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 25th. The game boasts a roster of over 30 characters to choose from with many improvements to the gameplay. Mai is actually in this game. For whatever reason, she just wasn’t in King of Fighters XII despite being popular.
One of the more important features is the online mode, which has been completely rebuilt. If you ever played KoF12, then you’ll know that online multiplayer was absolutely unplayable. In fact, it probably ranks in as the worst network experience for the genre. Massive input delay, lag, and pretty much nobody to play.
The King of Fighters XIII will most likely make or break the series at this point. The developers have a lot to prove. In the arcades, players have said that the game is actually quite good. Hopefully the console release reflects this opinion.

Only 30+?? Kof 2002 had over 50 or something if i remember right, but KoF XII was awful as hell, laggy online, no Mai Shiranui…etc. Oh well i might consider buying KoF XIII.

Yeah, 12 was just… horrible. This one has promise from what I’ve seen a heard. Very iffy on it still…they have a lot to prove.
