Sony Extends “Welcome Back” Package

After mostly negative comments regarding our story last night it’s refreshing to see that, if no-one else, Sony saw that a little bit of confusion and a few hours either way isn’t worth the bad PR.

It looks like stepping up and shaking a fist has worked – Sony have extended the previously expired Welcome Back package for another day, and it’ll now end on the 5th July.

And, wisely, given a deadline in terms of time, not just a date – it’s 9am Pacific Time.

For PS3 owners, go to the ‘Welcome Back’ section in the PlayStation Store, and select 2 titles from the following list:

  • Dead Nation
  • inFAMOUS
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
  • Wipeout HD + Fury

For PSP owners, go to the ‘Welcome Back’ section of PlayStation Store on your PSP system and select 2 titles from the following list:

  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation

You might have got your games, but did you get your 30 days PlayStation Plus free?  No?  Good, now go get it today.

  1. Why did they need to? Everyone had 30 days to claim their free stuff, which they knew from the start. That’s it, done. In fact they got more than 30 days, as 30 days would have been July 2nd. There can be no complaints.

    People just moan for the sake of it.

  2. I only got to DL one game from the welcome back programme >:( if you leave the option to dl both games you cannot go back as it vanishes.

    • You can still get it, well, when they reinstate the deal. From the XMB go to “Account Management” then “Transactions Management” then “Services”. You’ll see a SCEA or SCEE Promotion, (it should be around the top of the list) click on it and you’ll see “Free Game 1″,”Free Game 2”, ect. Click on the one you don’t have and you’ll be able to choose your free game from there. The Blue box you clicked on the store that day was just an unlock code that was designed to disappear like that. When the deal whent live people were getting errors while clicking on the free game boxes because of traffic, Sony’s response was just this, and it does work, had to use it myself. Hope this helps :)

      • I get to the ’30 day entitlement’ page but no Free Game 1, Free Game 2 etc. Have I done something wrong, as I haven’t downloaded any games from the 30-day package, although I may have started one and abandoned it, but I don’t think so…

      • It’s in the What’s New section, but clicking/pressing X on it does nothing. That’s all I can find so far…

  3. This is US only? Its not on either PSP store or PS3 store. Forgot to download LBP for missus (she has the UMD version but its dodgy with level creating) but forgot – not really bothered if it doesn’t come back though, just think TSA should remove the post or inform people it is US only.

  4. I still need to grab the other games on my alternate account, totally forgot about that, glad it’s been extended! Will do that tonight.
