War In The North “Touchpoints” Trailer Surfaces

Snowblind Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have recently launched a new trailer for their upcoming acton RPG, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Unlike most of the footage we have already seen, the new “Touchpoints” video briefly outlines what players can expect in terms of narrative, locations and cast as opposed to just gameplay. Running in tandem with the film trilogy, your unlikely band of allies (a dwarf warrior, human ranger, and elf spell-caster) travel through Middle Earth not only aid the fellowship in their epic adventure, but to stop the ascension of a greater evil past the northern reaches of Mount Gundabad.

  1. “First to Bree, to warn Aragorn…”

Pretty sure the heir of Isildur, King Elessar Telconta, son of Arathorn, knows full well that shit is about to kick-off.

    • Plus, has he also not just left with a bunch of Hobbits to get rid of the ring?

    • I’m assuming it takes place before the hobbits turn up at Bree. You know, when Strider was just kicking back, skulling pints, and chasing the local serving wenches.

“Baby, I’m gonna be KING one day. Hey, wanna see my sword?”

  2. This is actually the first Lord of the Rings game I’ve been looking forward to since Battle for Middle-Earth. (Wow, that was the nerdiest thing I’ve ever said!) I really hope it lives up to my expectations. :)

    • Agreed quite excited about this one!

  3. There’s so often an ‘unlikely’ band of different races in Middle Earth, I’m beginning to think it’s not all that unlikely. Gimme an unlikely band of wizards and I’d be happy. Or even just a likely band of elves.

    • How about a likely band of wizard elves?

  4. Looks better everytime I see it (:

  5. I was hoping we got to create our own band of heroes and customize them to our liking. But I’m guessing they are set characters that went north, just like the fellowship that travelled south, as in, already determined characters with their place in the LoTR-universe. I’m hoping it’s a great game, as I really like what I’ve seen so far.

    • i think it’s preset characters in this game.
but at least one of them is a woman this time.

anyway, the game is looking great.

  6. I like the look of this, something a bit different.

  7. Cool..
