Lord Of The Rings: War In The North Dated For UK

November is already set to be a busy month for games, but now, in the UK at least, it’s going to get busier with the addition of Lord of the Rings: War in the North.

The Action RPG, placed at number 80 in our top 100 games for 2011, will face stiff competition from the likes of Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and others.

Warner Bros. and Snowblind Studios obviously want to take advantage of the holiday season, but by releasing the title amongst the other gaming heavyweights, there’s a risk that it’ll get buried quicker than you can say “my precious”.

So will you be travelling to middle earth this November? Or do you have prior engagements with some other titles? Please let us know in the comments.

If you are planning a trip, you may be interested in the special collector’s edition, which is detailed here.

  1. It’ll be better buying the same game, just hope its good

  2. If it doesnt review very well then this will be passed over by me. Too many very nice games coming out and not enough cash to spare on anything else. Preorders are in for Dark Souls and AC Revelations and then theres Uncharted and Resistance calling my name (at least as it appears on my bank card) as well as a few others.

  3. with skyrim coming out in november, i don’t think they chose the best time to release it.
i know which one would get my money first.

kind of a shame really as it does look like a good game, it would have been better if they could have released it in september.

    • now would be better September is full so is October.

      • why did i think september was the month before november?

anyway, it would be better for the game if they could release it now when there are relatively few games out.
but i’m guessing it’s just not finished yet.

      • They picked the wrong year really

    • I agree, I’m going to have to put this game on hold now…

  4. Odd time to choose a release with all the bigger and well known releases about. I’ll pick it up at some point undoubtedly, but likely not till the new year.

  5. Silly to release so close to Skyrim.

  6. November’s a bitch. I worked out between September and Christmas I want about £300 of game – thank fuck my birthday is early december! Although almost £70 of that is the phat edition of Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

  7. Well i was thinking of getting this as it looks pretty decent and i’m a big LOTR fan but a bad time to release it. With Skrim, UC3, MW3, BF3 and Arkham City out i’ll be giving this a miss until after Christmas.

    • *Skyrim. How could i spell my most wanted game of this year wrong.

      • haha, Ive got UC3, Skyrim, BF3, AC:R, Dark Souls and now this that i really want to get. Going to be an expensive few months, but thats why we have christmas :L

    • we have exactly the same wishlist:) co-op on bank robbery?

      • as rocket that is.
acr rev in time, but i still have acr2 to do. let alone brotherhood.

  8. anyone else trying to push into November is just daft, your sales will be awful against the big guns…

  9. I’m looking forward to this, although I probably wont be able to afford it.

  10. Looking forward to this, ive managed to play every LOTR game so far. I am hoping for an improvement from conquest

    • I’m hoping its completely different to what EA pubbed never liked the games. If the rights is wasted I’d be very annoyed.

    • played them all, and i remember really enjoying the third age, was different from the other hack and slash ones (though when i played the fellowship i was too crap to figure out how to get past like, the 1st level). Yeah, hopefully this is something good.
