WeView: Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood

I’ll be honest here, I was a little ashamed when I realised I hadn’t featured any of the Assassin’s Creed titles in WeView yet. The series is probably my favourite to have come out of this generation of gaming, particularly since Ubisoft really upped their game with the second outing. After that they of course took things even further with Brotherhood, most obviously with the addition of multiplayer.

With my adoration for the series out of the way let’s turn to what we thought of the game when we reviewed it back in November. First up the score, it received a hearty 9/10.

On top of that we had this to say about the game:

Brotherhood is not perfect but it’s difficult to imagine how it could be improved upon. It could be called a perfect sequel, even if it is just a branched-off stop-gap after Assassin’s Creed II rather than a fully-fledged Assassin’s Creed III. The mistakes in game design from ACII have been addressed and there are a few other improvements, particularly to make the combat flow more naturally.

All while building on the parts of Assassin’s Creed that make you feel powerful, deadly and silent. Without question, this is one of the best games of 2010.

Of course, just because I adore the series and we were positive about the title in its review it doesn’t necessarily mean it will get any love from the community when you turn your critical eye to it. If you want to give your view just head over to the forums and leave us your thoughts on the game.

Whilst I’m not going to discount longer reviews, please remember that the aim is for short, snappy opinions. More than that I simply don’t have the time to wade through longer reviews, so if you want to have your opinion included in the verdict post try to keep it short.

Once you’ve written your review make sure you give it a score on the Buy It, Bargain Bin It, Rent It, Avoid It scale. Remember, if you want your score and opinion included in Monday’s verdict post you need to have it done by Sunday afternoon, otherwise I’ll have written it and you’ll be left out in the cold.

  1. I’ll be interested to see this result. I’m pretty close to the end of AC2 but just can’t bring myself to finish it.

    • Best game in the series. I loved it…

  2. Decided to for the first time have my say on a game in WeView. Could have been a better mini review, but I’m at work, and my boss is snigging about for trouble.

  3. Loved ACII and Brotherhood, played them for hours and bought the DLC, I also got totally addicted to AC:B multiplayer for a while, such an original multiplayer implementation

Only thing that marrs those games for me was the screen tearing

The next game will be a day one purchase for me

  4. Gosh darn it, another game I haven’t played lol.

  5. Have yet to finish Brotherhood but as of the moment there hasn’t been a game on weview that i have seen that i have finished. Will finish it off at some point though but am currently between Killzone 3, Undead Nightmare and Bulletstorm. May write a review if i have some time to spare but can’t make no guarantees.

  6. Love it. Took me ages to finish AC2, started it, cant remember why but I left it, and went back to is around 6 months later. Just in time for AC:B to be released. Fantastic game and now it is very cheap! Can be picked up for around £10-15 quid. Thats a lot of game for your cash.

    • I picked up Brotherhood day one since I loved the first two, and couldn’t get into it at all – got extremely annoyed with the controls and camera and traded it in after a couple of hours.

Decided to give it another chance a week ago, and picked it up for a tenner – and loved it to bits. No online gaming for me though, story mode only.
8/10 from me, deducted points for some repetition and a still somewhat dodgy camera at times.
