TheSixthAxis is delighted to formally announce Nintendo Unleashed 2011, a nationwide tour from the Big N that kicks off this weekend at Hyper Japan in London and looks to be unmissable for gamers.
The tour is designed to give Nintendo fans the chance to get their hands on Nintendo’s top games this year well before they’re released, and that includes the likes of Mario Kart and Starfox 64 on 3DS alongside Zelda: Skyward Sword on Wii.
Here’s the full list:
3DS
- Starfox 64 3D
- Resident Evil Revelations
- Metal Gear Solid 3D
- Super Mario 3D
- Mario Kart 3D
Wii
- Kirby
- Zelda Skyward Sword
- Xenoblade
The best bit is that most of the above games are fresh from E3, which means fully playable builds that – in some cases – won’t be far away from the finished articles. Some of the 3DS games like Mario Kart and Super Mario represent the second generation of 3DS games and are well worth trying out.
Visitors can also grab themselves a fancy bit of Nintendo swag by simply going up to a member of the team at the event and answering the following question: “How many Ocarina songs can you learn in Ocarina of Time?”
You can buy tickets for the first event, which to remind you is at Hyper Japan in London from this Friday until Sunday, here. We’re told there’s going to be double the number of dates across the country so if you’re not London-based then look forward to further announcements as the tour travels around the UK.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 on 3DS will be present at dates after this weekend.

Went to book tickets but a return on the train costs £110 for me. Gutted :o(
The Lone Steven
Bloody hell! And i thought the train prices down here were exspensive. Have you tried getting a single there and a single back as it may be cheaper.(probably not as public transport is a rippoff)
moshi
I’m working there on Saturday
The Lone Steven
I wish i could afford to go to London and hyperjapan :(
I wonder if TSA will be there?
The list of games look good but they seem to be mostly remakes. I wonder if Ninty are saving a suprise for the end of the tour? The games that are coming out sometime this year may be enough for me to justify getting a 3DS. I still find it strange that there was not a Mario title at release.
mynameisblair
There’s 2 remakes there.
colmshan1990
3.
Metal Gear Solid, Starfox and Mario Kart.
mynameisblair
Mario Kart is a sequel, a brand new iteration of the series for the 3DS.
nofi
Mario Kart isn’t a remake.
colmshan1990
I stand corrected then.
It’s not a remake, but a sequel.
Does it add much to the franchise or is a FIFA style update/sequel?
KeRaSh
From what I’ve seen there are some new ideas in there like flying and underwater raceways. You can also customize your kart but then again the last Mario Kart that I played was on the 64 so that might be an old feature.
mynameisblair
Each Mario Kart adds different things but it’s the same core game. The Wii version, for example, added more characters and bikes.
The 3DS version seems to be the ‘fullest’ yet with lots of variety in the tracks, customisation and other things that have been mentioned, definitely worthy of a game of its own.
colmshan1990
Hmm, interesting…
Might be worth picking up when I eventually get my 3DS then…
mynameisblair
I /need/ to go to this.
Pleasepleaseplease come to Edinburgh/Glasgow. If I don’t play Mario and Skyward Sword, I’ll cry.
david
No thanks Nintendo new IPS please.
Crocadillian
*yawn*
Their graphic design liked like they borrowed some 90’s promotional material, and these games are like their consoles; they like to tack on a few gimmicks each time round.
KeRaSh
Saw a trailer for Super Mario 3DS and I must say it looks very good (not that I ever had any doubts).
Dan Lee
Right, got myself a ticket for Saturday. Driving down costs a LOT less.
mynameisblair
Come pick me up!
moshi
Let’s have a mini TSA live meet.
Dan Lee
moshi, I’ll be the big guy in a red ninja turtles tshirt. Say hi (or avoid me!)
moshi
I will be at the KDJ stall lugging heavy bags of Kimonos around . Will be happy for the diversion.
BAZ1307
Why don’t they just release the bloody demos? I’m not travelling 300 miles to play some 3Ds games. :S

MGS interests me a little but the rest just isn’t for me unfortunately (to put it mildly).

Would love to go….
