Mirror’s Edge 2 OPM Rumour Emerges

Hitting the Official PlayStation Magazine’s rumour column this month is the much-anticipated parkour ’em up, Mirror’s Edge 2. According to the mag, “the Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return,” agreeing with previous rumours spurred by Electronic Arts VP, Patrick Soderlund, that EA and DICE still have plans for a sequel.

Despite hauling an impressive Metacritic average of 79, Mirror’s Edge failed to connect with consumers back in 2009, leaving fans concerned for the IP’s future. However, at every opportunity EA has denied that the franchise is about to be shelved, insisting Faith and The Runners will return, but when?

  1. I’ve been gaming for nearly 30 years and I really can’t think of another game I’ve ever wanted a sequel to so much. The mere concept of frostbite associated with this excites me greatly, please get on this dice.
    PLEASE.

  2. I would love to see a sequel to Mirror’s edge as it was innovative and had a decent story. I hope they don’t decide to turn it into a generic FPS with a bit of parkour if and when they decide they want to do a sequel. I wonder if EA will annouce this next year after a majority of their big games have been released to avoid it getting overshadowed by said games?
