A brand new Forza 4 ‘making of’ video has emerged, and it’s a bit of a beauty.
It shows the lengths the developers at Turn 10 have gone to to model one of the courses in the game, and whilst there’s not a huge amount of game footage it’s well worth watching.
In addition, there’s a few new shots of some of the vehicles in the game, which are literally stunning.

So by “Full HD” he means 1080p? That’s pretty impressive then.
Not a fan of how he’s all smug about getting HDR in the game, though. As if that hasn’t been around for years now. I think it was Half Life 2 that may have led the charge with it?

xbox 360 can’t do “full hd” in game, only in the menus. so no he doesn’t mean 1080p.

Hmm? Of course it can. There’s no hardware limitation anywhere that would stop it doing 1080p, just that developers have never really done it very often, and it’s not a big check box for MS to crow about, like it was for Sony and GT5.

i’m almost certain that it can only produce unscaled 1080p and not true 1080p. nearly all games only produce a upscaled 1080p although a couple of ps3 exclusive games do play in true 1080p. i may be wrong though.

Yeah, 1080p is perfectly possible.
The console does do upscaling too. Quite a few games have a higher res on 360 thanks to it’s faster fill rate. PS3 doesn’t really have many beyond 2D PSN games, although GT5 showed it’s perfectly possible for anyone who wants to spend years & years honing a game and probably 10’s of $millions as that runs fine at 1080p

Nice to see the effort that goes into something like this although I take issue with the explanation about the sun being brighter than white paper and how it’s seen on-screen. Meh! White paper isn’t even white. It’s just bright and fairly well lit at the best of times. I appreciate he was trying to explain something but it came across badly.
Anyway, stunning vistas and some lovely graphics to boot. We’ve heard that somewhere else, so for me (as always), it’s about the gameplay.

Hmm – still doesn;t look as nice as GT5. And grindelwald? seriously? How long has that been in Gran Turismo?
I think Forza is probably a great game, but… GT5 still rules.
