Square Enix has opened a website which seems to indicate a remake of the Taito game ‘Elevator Action’. The original game featured a spy, codenamed ‘Otto’, who must collect secret documents from a building using a complex sequence of elevators.
The game was ported to numerous home computer systems in in 1990s including the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.
The website lists the game, Elevator Action Deluxe, as a downloadable title for PS3, with no sign of an Xbox version. The site is in Japanese but as it features the European Software Ratings Board logo it’s logical to assume the game will be arriving in Europe.
The ERSB has rated the game as Teen with blood, violence and ‘suggestive themes’. Perhaps the remake features and very different type of ‘action‘ in an elevator.
