Forgive the headline, I know that Halo: CE Anniversary is much more than just regular old Halo with a new coat of paint. These screens should prove to anyone with any doubts that this is one “HD remake” that is a little more than just a texture up-res.
The original was seminal. It changed a genre. Activision’s Call of Duty franchise might have stolen its “World’s biggest…” crown but the Halo series remains one of the biggest draws in modern console gaming. Halo: CE Anniversary will offer the landscape-altering original Halo with a modern edge that might put it back on many people’s radars.

I wish they’d show Halo screens from the first person. They did this with the original too.
That said: very nice.

Isn’t this just Reach multiplayer but with the Halo CE maps? So its just showing you Reach??

That is just the multiplayer part of Halo CE running on the Reach engine. The actually game singleplayer runs on the orginal engine, but has updated graphics. It will look good, but not as smooth as the Reach engine they are using for multiplayer in the pics above.
Here is a video of the singleplayer:

Hur-hur… Seminal…
Fantastic game, wish I had a 360 to play this, and muck around on Silent Cartographer again.

I am not a fan of Halo. My first ‘proper’ foray into FPS’s was COD4, and from then on, I’ve always aimed down the sights. Its very rare that I shoot for the hip so to say (lol). I bought Halo 3 for the mrs’ box of X about 2 weeks ago and was extremely dissapointed to find that I couldnt aim down the sights. It has instantly put me off trying any of the others as Ive been told it’s the same for all of them?

I also find it a bit difficult when it is not an option to use iron-sights – AvP is the same & i often end up dead before i have finished remembering that i cannot do it!

I’m not a fan of Halo but those screens do look good.
