A new update is now available for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition for the Xbox 360. The 2MB download adds YouTube uploading support, which is a feature the PS3 version had at launch.
As I mentioned in the review, the video quality on YouTube isn’t all that great. That hasn’t changed for the Xbox 360 version. However, there doesn’t seem to be a way to use your own YouTube account like you can on the PS3. All the videos go to a dedicated channel made by Capcom. Someone uploaded a video titled “Megaman wants a new game”, which is pretty funny.
Here’s a match I uploaded. It took about an hour and a half for it to appear on the actual YouTube channel.
Capcom has announced that a patch is on the way to fix some issues with the online mode. Right now there’s a weird issue where some people have disconnect rates in the thousands, which just isn’t humanly possible. It’s also really difficult to find Ranked matches due to the way matchmaking works.
There is no ETA on when to expect the patch since it hasn’t been submitted to Sony and Microsoft yet. Capcom mentioned that they’re looking at feedback for possible future updates as well to fix any additional issues.
Third Strike Online is now available on PSN and XBL for $14.99/£11.99/€14.99 (1200 MS points). Definitely give it a try if you haven’t already. It’s a game worthy of all the praise it receives.

Holy Chun-li on a bike, that quality is dire!

Yeah, it’s pretty bad. I guess it’s better than nothing for people that don’t have a capture device.

Loads fast too ;)

So yet another capcom game releases with a online mode that doesn’t work properly. You’d think they’d have got it right by now!

I can’t think of a single game that had an online mode without any sort of problems. Third Strike is easily has the best online mode out of any fighter right now.
