A Haul Of Shinobido 2 Screenshots

Out of all the games we’ve seen for the PlayStation Vita, Shinobido 2 takes the biscuit when it comes to constant media exposure. Developed by Acquire, the same team behind the Tenchu series, Shinobido 2 combines stealth and swordplay for a premium handheld experience which will also make use of the Vita’s touchscreen.

Expect to see more (if that’s physically possible) at next month’s Tokyo Game Show.

  1. Is it just me, or does anyone else find these screens rather underwhelming compared to other titles that have been shown heretofore?

    • Don’t expect all Vita games to look like Uncharted. =)

    • Shinobido has never been known for being cutting edge in terms of graphics, and yeah Uncharted is Uncharted, the only series that can topple it is if we see a Gran Turismo Vita in 6 years or so.

      • Well, supposedly the Vita is much easier to program for than the PS3 so although Naughty Dog are pretty much top of the class when it comes to getting the most out of PS3, it doesn’t automaticaly mean Uncharted will remain the holy grail of visuals on Vita, especially so early in it’s life. I think it’s perfectly feasible that we’ll see a broad range of games with higher quality visuals than this game (shinibido) on Vita. I certainly hope so! ;)

      • By your reckoning, the fact it’s easier to program means that games will catch up to Uncharted?
        What if Uncharted also improves?

      • @Colmshan1990: You make a good point although I’m inclined to believe that the makers of Uncharted on Vita may have had an advantage with possibly more in depth access and support from Sony, given that it’s such a flagship title. I’m not disagreeing that there will always be the Uncharteds and GTs but perhaps i should hold off buying a Vita until it’s a bit clearer what quality we’ll be seeing across the board. I won’t be buying one to experience PSP-like visuals, that’s for certain.

    • I think the same. This looks closer to ps2 graphics than to ps3 graphics.

I did enjoy one of Tenchu titles on ps2 though.

    • I agree, it /looks/ very underwhelming. However if the gameplay holds up nicely I won’t be too bothered.

  2. That actually just looks like a re-skinned Tenchu!!

  3. Not that impressed tbh. I have been a bit disappointed with the majority of videos and screenshots that I have seen for the Vita stuff.

  4. Really annoyed if they feck this up, been wanting a proper ninja games for years regardless if the graphics are similar to Tenchu 3.

  5. Looks like an HD PS2 game…

  6. Everyone remembering that although this looks a bit meh, I agree, but remember its early and the proper dev tools haven’t been made yet, so it will get better..

    • I agree, the graphics will come with time. Lets just hope the devs are able to properly utilise the touchscreens/dual analogues and get the gameplay right.

I wasn’t very impressed with the touchscreen input on Uncharted that I saw TBH. Looked fairly pointlessly tacked on for the most part and seemed to make the game easier if anything (trace your finger up a wall to climb it etc.)
