ICO/SOTC Collection To Launch With Reversible Cover

Sony has recently announced that it will include an alternate cover for the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection (our review), printed on the reverse side of the original inlay. Sony’s motive behind this decision is unclear, claiming it to be “a special treat,” though it could also be in response to hardcore fans who openly spoke against the generic HD Classics box art.

The reversible inlay has been confirmed for both US and EU versions of the game which are due to launch towards the end of September.

  1. The Resistance 3 has a reversible cover as well. I like the idea of it.

    • What is this “the resistance 3” you speak of? Never heard of it!

    • Resistance… were you resist to buy another game that isn’t Resistance..

  2. Nice little touch, that.

  3. Yay, absolutely adore the original art of both, this will be lovely.

  4. That is well cool;)

  5. That’s pretty good fan-service.

  6. I love the way many ps3 games have game art printed on the inside cover but this one is indeed special.
Let’s all join hands and praise the lord they didn’t use the american Ico cover art! :)

For those that were unaware, i apologise for what you are about to see..

    • oh dear christ

    • That’s really just bad. America doesn’t seem to have much luck with cover art, their Heavy Rain art was also terrible.

I’m glad they included this, I will definitely be using the reverse side.

    • Holy moly that’s terrible

  7. Nice little add =)

  8. Will definitely use this as the cover. Looks great. Can’t wait for my pre-order to arrive…

  9. LBP2 has one I reversed, but looks odd as only one in collection. Should be a standard thing. I’m sure Kotaku had a link to a fanart site with printable PS3 covers, maybe 2 months ago.

  10. cant wait for this gettin close now to release date giddy giddy giddy I am thankfull for the rugby keeping me entertained until realease
