News just in that the forthcoming console release of Crysis will be a downloadable title. The PC-tester’s go-to game for benchmarking graphics capabilities will arrive on XBLA and PSN in October this year.
Priced at £16.99 or 1600 MSP (roughly £13.60), Crysis has been given a bit of an overhaul for its debut on home consoles. It will have “new lighting, effects and visual optimisations” making what is still considered to be a very good looking game, even prettier.
It might be the graphical power that most have focussed on with Crysis but underneath that sheen there was a very enjoyable game based around sandbox areas and nanosuit mechanics. This update has allowed Crytek to go back in and tidy it up a little bit, adding stereoscopic 3D in the process.

I think I will need to free up some gigabytage for this, I suspect it will be a chunky download. Loved Crysis 2, far more involving than conveyor belt FPS releases.

Hmm if it is download only I may have to give it a miss, depending on the price. I only just managed to finish downloading infamous after what, like three months?
Hope it has a disc release.

Me too i like owning games on discs and my connection speed isn’t the fastest 700mb file takes around an hour to get but will have to see

Started playing this lately, High settings with 4x AA on my PC, and it’s really pretty but I have a few issues with the actual gameplay. Get’s a tad boring, and I doubt I’ll be able to see it through to the end. However, glad it’s reaching consoles, as there may be people out there who will enjoy it more than me. The more the better :)

i think i’d rather have it on disc, even if it cost a bit more.
still at least it sounds like this’ll be a standalone title playable without it’s sequel, unlike the alice remake.
they’re potentially losing sales by requiring madness returns to play the original.
mind you though, if it’s on xbla, that guarantees there’ll be a demo.

Seems a bit steep to me but that appears to contrary to most peoples feelings. The USD value will probably be pushed up over 20 in that case. Not too enticing.

I love crysis, I love my PS3, but everybody should get a go at playing it maxed out at 60FPS on a pc with the texture mods, you will SH*T your mind.

I think it may just be as stunning to look at as the PC version as the graphics have come a long way during the past few years on consoles. But i’m not getting due to it being downloadable. I want the new game smell! I think it is one of the few games where the PC in a FPS actually has some kind of personality instead being a bald space marine. :)

Trust me dude, consoles have gotten better but they still can’t touch pc, It won’t look as good as PC does.
