Images from Sony’s TGS 2011 booth have revealed the design of the PlayStation Vita’s game boxes, Uncharted: Golden Abyss recognized as one of the pictured titles.
Fairly small in size and blue in colour, the inlay for Golden Abyss appear to emulate that of the new PlayStation 3 template which was introduced back in 2009.
Sony has yet to confirm whether this will be the final design for the game cases or if there will be a variation from region to region. The PlayStation Vita will launch on December 17th in Japan with a European release expected in early 2012.

I preferred the cute PSP cases, as the cases were pretty durable and the size wasn’t too overwhelming, but its nice to see the blue colour back since the PS2! Also the design of the insert is good and consistent with the PS3, as well as the case size come to think of it. It makes sense now why they would use the same case.

If they’re the same size they can pack them full of the same bumf that ps3 games come with.
They’ll probably want to include PSN pass cards in them too. As long as they’re think but you can still read the spine I don’t mind. I always foudn PSP cases meant there was a lot of wasted space on my shelf and the narrow books very a bit fiddly.
A blu-ray case gives them the option to include other extras inside like customised memroy cards, 2 cards for game multi-packs (might prove useful for the MGS and ZOE HD packs).
I also like everything coming in the same size when it comes to birthdays/christmas otherwise I can guess the presents before I open them.

Yeah, saw this earlier too. Initial thoughts are that the box is pretty damn massive and it’s too blue. ;)

does the vita have just the one slot for memory card and game card? so its either have a game in or data card?

wiki says “PS Vita is equipped with the storage media slot in addition to the new game medium slot” thats good.

It looks like a cheap knockoff. I really really hope for the love of ham and mustard sandwhichs that this is just concept and not the final design.

Love it.

Waste of plastic imo just to house an sd.If the size is because of the booklet then they should minimize it.
