DICE has today announced that the Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will open to all gamers on September 29. The beta is set in Paris on the Operation Metro map, where players work their way from parks on the outskirts of the city to a dark, bombed-out metro station, to the vibrant streets around the Paris stock exchange.
Two elite tactical units square off in the series’ popular Rush Mode. One side takes the offensive by attacking M-COM stations while the opposing squad defends and protects.

Me too. Spent an age playing the BC2 Port valdez beta/demo when it was released and picked the full release it up day 1. Hoping I get the same feel for BF3, could well spell the end of my COD buying…
Will just have to wait and see. I do agree that it is a bit of a shame that the demo is rush mode rather than conquest, but can see Bilbo’s point regarding EA not wanting to alienate possible new buyers/COD converts.

Can’t wait, only being able to watch alpha trailers, is so frustrating. The opportunity to give feedback (as stated at FAQ page,) will be cool too.
