First Import PS1 Titles Roll Onto PSN Store

[drop2]Although everyone’s more interested in which PS2 games Sony will bring to the European PSN Store today, MonkeyPaw Games have let us know that they’re publishing three PS1 games in the brand new ‘import section’.

The first three titles are Arc the Lad (tactical RPG), Cho Aniki (hugely gigglesome sidescrolling shooter) and Arcade Hits: Sonic Wings Special (shoot ’em up).

“Why is it that so many classic Japanese titles haven’t seen distribution outside of Japan?” asks the press release.

“MonkeyPaw’s mission is to share these forgotten gems with gamers around the globe. We’re excited to offer our digital download import and classic titles to the European PlayStation Store.” said John Greiner, president and CEO of MonkeyPaw Games.

“It’s just a taste of what’s to come,” he said.  Presumably referring to Cho Aniki…

  1. While I loved Arc the Lad I can’t help but think it will feel a touch dated now (I think I would prefer the sequel, but only just). I would like Einhander though – that’s been on the JP store for ages and doesn’t require much translation!

  2. There was a fab Japanese only Transformers game

  3. So glad these are coming over even though I’ve already picked up 2 of them, I’ll grab the third just for support :)
