The internet is buzzing after an eagle-eyed scamp spotted adverts for the fabled Xbox 720 in the trailer for upcoming movie ‘Real Steel’. Were the adverts an unintentional leak like the billboard for Resistance 3 that was spotted during the filming of Battle L.A.?

The producers of Real Steel are husband and wife team Don Murphy and Susan Montford and I just happen to know Don, so I have asked him about the advert. His response:
We just made it up.

Yeah, but at the same time I’d be wondering why Microsoft would place an AD for the real deal on a banner in a move that you see for a second and only if you keen an eye out for it…

I don’t like the name of the new(if true) xbox. I would called it either the xbox 3 or the Xbox mark 3. Film looks good though. :) If MS did put an ad in the trailer then that is poor marketing as noone will see it except the eagled eye people. Then again, it could be made up just for the film. I think we should keep an eye out for it. :)

Ah, but he may have been lying to cover up the leak. Or it is made up as he said. Only time will tell. I like to believe it is semi true. That they made up the 720 name but they plan on annoucing it at next year’s E3. :)
