Capcom has announced the release date for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012. The free balance patch will be released on December 13th for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
A few months ago, Capcom released a tentative changelist for all 39 characters. Since then, the list has been adjusted numerous times based on feedback from location tests in Japan. Hopefully the final version of Arcade Edition will address the community’s concerns regarding balance. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Looks like Capcom is gonna continue updating a particular version of Street Fighter once again,as opposed to just making a full-on sequel. I may sound like I’m complaining but I have never forgotten the debacle with Street Fighter 2 and how long it took before 3 ever surfaced

There doesn’t need to be a Street Fighter V now. Especially since Super IV’s gameplay is so good and it’s still very popular in the competitive scene.
Going by the trend set by 2, 3 and 4, 5 would be a much different game. It deserves to be released at a later time to fully develop it.

I agree, I’d rather much see SSIV updated until maybe the new generation.

At least the update is free! I think it’s great to see them supporting the game and the community, without dollar signs in their eyes.

I’m more than happy with the updates to SF4 right now, it feels way too early for SF5. 4 currently has plenty of characters, a fair bit of depth and still lots of people playing online.

Not impressed by this. The whole reason I loved SFIV was it left behind all of that super-ex-alpha-3rd-strike naming rubbish and got back to the basics which made SF2 great.

I was all set to rage about seeing another SFIV being sold, but this is just a patch.
Much preferable.
