If there’s one thing you should know about Saints Row by now, its that the series has never really taken itself that seriously, The Third being one of the most absurd take on the sandbox genre to date.
Now, we’re used to EA and the team at DICE taking a crack at the Call of Duty franchise, which in all honesty hasn’t really paid off for them, but now Volition are having a bit of fun.

I haven’t seen anyone moaning about Saints Row 3 taking the piss out of BF and COD. I’m pretty sure that they have their own reasons for not liking Saints row. Telling people to shut up is not a good idea as we value everyone’s opinions.
Anyway, Saints Row tends to be GTA on drugs which is then also on drugs. :D I am surprised that they are not taking the piss out of GTA this time around. :O I suspect it will be fun and funny at times.

they’re probably not doing any gta parodies because nobody’s talking about gta at the moment.
it’s been something like three years since gta iv.
but games like COD and battlefield series are a bit more current.

I’m looking forward to it, despite it’s detractors I really enjoyed SR2’s dickaboutability, so long as 3’s just a more polished version I can live with that.

Love the Saints series and this looks a lot of fun. Unfortunatley its sillyness is coming to bite me in the arse at the moment. I was planning on asking for it for Christmas but my wife and my parents are refusing to buy it for me because of how childish and immature it looks :( LOL.

I had never played a SR game before EGX, but i have to say that the small amount of time i spent with it was fun & i actually didn’t really do too much at all apart from run around with a huge dildo beating up anyone unfortunate enough to get in my way!
That wasn’t what sold it to me though as that was just messing around – What sold it to me as something i might want to try, was the way that it felt like old GTA (around vice city time), back when they were fun & you weren’t taking brucie for a date every 5 minutes to ensure he was still your fweind.
I don’t generally play games to recreate lifestyle experiences, as i can usually experience those in life (in a lot of cases) – I usually play games to do things that you just wouldn’t do or get away with in real life. Sometimes you just wanna jump a few cars off of buildings, create a bit of havoc & just generally mess around with stuff & this seems perfect for that.

I wonder how EA and Activision will respond if they choose to? I know EA loves taking the p*ss out of any game that they choose to. *remebers the BFBC ads* Ah. In fact, i’m hoping that EA takes the P*ss out of COD as they can be funny sometimes. Oh, got off topic.
