With a couple of weeks to go, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launch trailer has been released.
Declaring the game to be “the most anticipated” in history, it’s your typical fast paced affair. It seems no matter what you choose as your FPS fix over the next month, you’re in for a treat.

The most anticipated game in history?! BWAHAHAAA….
That is all I got to say about that.

Good trailer, a little underwhelming when you put it next to Battlefields in my opinion but I have no doubt it will be great game nevertheless. I do think that Bf are in a great situation as far as release dates are concerned and being two weeks ahead, should make the sales more interesting.

COD games seem to get grief and its purely because its so popular with ‘non gamers’. It might not be to everyones taste but its clearly a decent game and stats confirm its the most anticipated/successful to date. Battlefield will also be fantatstic…. Why does it have to be one or the other? I will get both but MW3 first for me

Spot on sir, perfectly put.

The reason I hate COD is because of its massive popularity. Before with any other game I could simply give it a miss and not care, but with the massive success of COD4 and onwards its not so simple anymore. COD4 brought some game changing and game BREAKING (for me) updates to the FPS genre, and because of its popularity it manages to influence lots of other games out there (my main gripe being Killzone 3). That’s why I hate COD, not because its popular with non-gamers.

Can’t really get exited about this, looks like MW,MW2 and Black ops. Nothing new.

after watching both this and the BF3 launch trailers it looks like BF3 has the “epicness” down perfectly, better than COD does. COD will win the FPS war, it will sell far more but BF3 looks and plays like the far superior game. ill end up getting both and ill regret buying COD like I have with the past 3 iterations.

Let’s be honest here, BF was in need of a drastic visual makeover much more than MW. I can’t comment how mw3 plays as yet, but looks better than mw2.
Burgess_101
i played it at GAMEfest it feels like COD really i myself just find it stale, BF was in need over a overhaul just to try and capture part of the COD market and its done it wonderfully while not alienating the supposed “hardcore” fans

I meant even if the was no gameplay, or map layout changes in bf, a visual improvement was desperately needed. I love the differences between cod & bf btw, both play styles appeal to me.
There are alot of changes in mw3 besides better textures, a nicer polish & colouring to the visuals.
Sound improved alot from mw2(forget bops, sounds awful.)
New game modes, scoring & perk system.
All play styles now rewarded.
Spec ops upgraded & theatre mode refined.
Weapons more balanced.(with the welcome ever metalic look, unlike bfbc2.)
Elite tracking free/sub, which gives you all future dlc, competitions.
Implemented clan system.
Now that bf & mw for that matter, are more pleasing on the eye, the more i’ll enjoy them.
Long may they both continue, to do what each does best.

* ever welcome. (switch aRooney.)

i can see what you mean all things that are most welcome, im just hoping (as i do with every game) that they are both amazing but i want BF3 to beat MW3 in terms of sales and the actual game itself just so the COD team step their games up a little. The Competition doesn’t hurt anyone but benefits all.

A good point re sales & the aftermath. Be interestng to see how it all turns out.

Id say most anticipated game in history is an over stretch. most anticipated multi-player experience perhaps.

Splitting hairs arnt we, besides you need the game to play mp.

Despite what anyone thinks, COD will probably still sell more just because of the sort of game play that it promotes. It let’s people be completely selfish and gratifying at the same time where as BF3 tends to promote team work and doesn’t reward individuals with even more crack-like-addictive power (killstreaks).
I know a lot of us like the team work and varied class style game play, but I also know that a lot of people just like the simplicity of killing without need for thought, the majority of the population in fact, and that’s why COD will sell more.
You could make a game with exactly the same single player story, graphics and engine. But I bet you that people would, in general buy the less complex multiplayer game because that’s a reflection of the market. Call it what you like but it’s true.

Same old COD & same old BF. (same old hate for cod.)
A few nip & tucks on both & the truth is, us fans wouldn’t want it any other way.
I tell you another home truth, BF only fans say “same COD as ever, your wasting your money & when dice brings out 1bottleneck map, adds k/d to the scoreboard, or recoil to a rifle, “aargh don’t change my BF.”
Shotgun75
I’ll buy it and play it and probably enjoy it, but for me Battlefield 3 is more anticipated.
