What We Played #629 – Warhammer Realms of Ruin, COD Modern Warfare 3 & P5 Tactica

Warhammer Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin Nighthaunt Cinematic Header

After a busy week full of exciting work courses and trips to the cinema, it’s going to be time to sit back and relax this weekend. However, we’ve still managed to sneak in a whole heap of gaming as well. I’ve been playing through Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin and really enjoyed it, particularly the terrifying Nighthaunt, as well as cleaning things in Powerwash Simulator VR and bounding across rooftops in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.

Nick P has mostly been continuing his run of Final Fantasy 16, saying, “Great game overall but the side quests are a little on the monotonous side. As per usual, general smatterings of Street Fighter 6, Dead by Daylight and FC 24 also happened.”

Ade polished off Asterix and Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 for review. Also, he and his partner thoroughly enjoy teaming up to puzzle through The Talos Principle 2. When he wasn’t doing that he got a copy of Spider-Man 2 for his birthday – Happy Birthday!! – he told us, “What a game! It’s everything I ever wanted from the sequel! Outstanding.”

Jason has mostly been playing Backpack Hero. Read the review for his thoughts, but it continues to be a lot of fun.

Gamoc played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 for review, as well as Trepang2 which he forgot about. Other than that, he’s right at the end of Baldurs Gate 3 (literally halfway through the final battle), he completed Spidey 2, and even played a little Beat Saber.

Nic B played Persona 5 Tactica “which is a good little game. Starts getting a bit repetitive towards the end, but if you like tactical games with a Persona flair, this is well worth a play!” He also found time for Monster Hunter Now and Pokémon Go.

Aran played SteamWorld Build. That’s all we can say. Meanwhile, Steve played handful of smaller games for review which included the “fun if unexpected crafting game spinoff from the solid Earthlock JRPG.” He’s also been making decent progress through Like A Dragon: Ishin but keeps on getting distracted by side quests and general tomfoolery.

And finally, Tef has also been sampling the various modes within Modern Warfare 3, but it’s not really grabbing him this year. Alongside that, he returned to C-Smash VRS to finally finish off a long-overdue review of the Dreamcast revival arcade sports game, and has made a little start on American Arcadia.

What about you, what have you played?

  1. This week I finished my playthrough of House of Ashes, which was good. Well, the game was, but I wasn’t. Either my reflexes got quite a bit worse in recent years, or they shortened the QTE times, as I struggled with these, compared to previous Supermassive games. I ended up with only one survivor… :-)

Then I started playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and after the first two hours I got so bored with the repetitive, button-mashing fighting, which made my thumbs hurt. I kept playing to experience the story, but had to use some of the accessibility features. Maybe I’m getting too old for these types of games…
