Batman: Arkham City Is The “Highest Reviewed Videogame” Of 2011

Batman: Arkham City is the “highest reviewed videogame” of the year, according to a rather excitable press release.  The game has shipped more than 4.6 million units worldwide, too.

The PR says that the week one sales figure is more than double that of Arkham Asylum, and shouts about the Metacritic scores of 96% (on PS3) and 95% (on 360), presumably rather happy about a couple of Uncharted 3 reviews dragging that one down.

“Batman: Arkham City is one of the best action adventure games, proven by the tremendous reviews, and it further establishes the Batman brand as a marquee franchise for our growing business,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“Rocksteady Studios went above and beyond in delivering an incredible game and the support of the entire team at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment drove the excellent campaign a game like this deserves.”

We scored the game a tremendous 10/10 in our review.

  1. I’ll assume the third is coming then, dead certainty now..

  2. Personally I find the idea that this is as good or better than Uncharted 3 to be quite laughable, especially after all the issues it has already had. I’ve been becoming more and more disillusioned with reviews lately, I take everything with a truck full of salt. Except you, Nofi, your reviews have never let me down.

  3. I’m really loving Batman AC. In my mind it’s high scores are well deserved.
