Uncharted 3 Treasure Bearer Tournament

General

  • The Tournament will be played on Thursday the 8th of December starting at 8PM GMT. If anyone is not ready by 8:10PM, they may be left behind.
  • Entries must be sent via email to [email protected], with the subject “Uncharted 3 Treasure Bearer”, including TSA and PSN IDs.
  • Number of participants is limited to 20 players, if more than 20 applications are received, names will be drawn at random.
  • The winner receives the Uncharted: Drake’s Journal book. TSA points will be dished out liberally.
  • In the event something unexpected happens, such as disconnections or ties results, Teflon’s decision is final.
  • All the usual T&Cs apply.
Tournament Structure & Rules
  • Once the 20 entrants have been drawn, they will be randomly split into two parties of 10, and then into teams of 5. One player will be designated party host.
  • After the parties have assembled for the competition, a 5 minute lag test will be played.
  • All Boosters and Skins allowed.
  • No DLC is required to play.
  • There will be 5 rounds to the tournament. In order: Team Deathmatch; Plunder; Three Team Deathmatch; Team Deathmatch; Free For All.
  • If numbers are sufficiently different, the structure of the competition may be adjusted to compensate.
  • Rounds will be limited to 10 minutes with Friendly Fire turned off, Power Plays turned off and Treasure Chests turned off.
  • Team Deathmatch will be played to 50 kills, Three Team Deathmatch to 30 kills, Free For All to 20 kills and Plunder to 5 captures.
  • After each round, the lowest scoring (kills) player from each team will be knocked out.
  • In Three Team Deathmatch, only the lowest scoring player from the lowest scoring team is knocked out.

Who to eliminate?

  • In Plunder, a treasure capture counts for 3 bonus kills. If this leads to a tie, then actual kills will count as being more valuable.
  • In Three Team Deathmatch, the pairings will be decided from the results of the previous round. The top player from each team combines with the 3rd player from the opposite team, with the two 2nd place players also combining.
  • In the event of a tied number of kills, the deaths (lower is better) then assists (higher is better) will be counted before referring to the previous round’s score.
  • It’s probably needless to say that exploiting glitches and cheating will not be tolerated. If it is spotted, reported to the tournament moderator and corroborated through other players and/or the cinema file, that player will be disqualified.
  • A Photo of the final score table will be taken after each round as proof of the results, and a replay of every match will be saved by or sent to Teflon, if necessary, for the write up of the tournament.
  • The final round will determine the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place players on their number of kills (same rules as above for a tied result).

  2. If this tournament had cropped up last month I would have been all over it. I made the mistake of playing the game religiously during the ‘early access’ period, reaching something like rank 35 and now I’m a bit bored of it to be honest. Good luck to the entrants anywho :)

        I think its mainly because I have so many games to play through at the moment I’ve sort of lost interest.
        Hopefully when Teggy and Selly get it over Xmas there will be enough of us to get some good games going :)

  3. Just sent my entry. I need try and win it this time, I’ve came so close on so many occasions.
    Also just wondering who’s gonna be the 2nd host?

    • I haven’t decided this yet, and will base it off who enters.
      Thankfully, I’ve not really noticed any problems with people joining one another and disconnections. So hopefully it shouldn’t really matter!

    • That’s right, unless people want a gentleman’s and gentlewoman’s agreement to not use certain unlockables.
