Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012 Full Details

Capcom are to release a patch for Street Fighter IV which tweaks  every single character on the roster including the amount of damage taken, stun times and hitbox size.

The patch will go live for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners on December 13th and a PC version will follow shortly after.  The rather humongous list of changes are detailed below – you may want to make a cup of tea and find a comfy chair before you continue.

  1. I’m confused with all the versions – I have Super Street Fighter IV. Is this a patch for that game, or only if I bought the Arcade Edition DLC/add-on or whatever it was?

No Street Fighter game has been as good as Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition. I paid £60.00 for that on my MegaDrive. No, no, that’s not a typo, sixty pounds.

    • It’s a patch for Arcade Edition. If you have the Arcade Edition disc or if you bought the DLC, it’s for that.

      • Thanks – can’t remember if I bought it or not. Might be worth it with all these changes!

    • And you needed to invest in a pad with 3 more buttons.

      • Yep, but those pads were so much better!

  2. My friend is going to be so miffed. He has just got to grips with the hit/hurt boxes and frames between actions and now they are changing them. (He likes to think he is a pro at SF. I beat him once. Still milking it.)

  3. I’ll pop it in later so I can get it to auto later when the patch comes out.

  4. The name keeps growing.

  5. You mean that they are doing an update that doesn’t require a re-release???
