Silent Hill 2 Movie ‘Locked’

The second Silent Hill movie, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, has been ‘locked’ and the team are now working on the soundtrack and score with a view to releasing the picture either late spring 2012 or early autumn.

Sean Bean will return and he will be joined by Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell.

The script is reportedly based on Silent Hill 3 with Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) on the run from dark forces.  On the eve of her birthday Heather’s father vanishes and she discovers that she might not be who she thinks she is.

Oooooooh, spooky! I wonder how they will crowbar in Pyramid Head this time?

  1. what do they mean by “locked”?
    that mean they finished filming?

anyway, i quite liked the original so i’ll be in line to see this when it’s released.

i wonder how they’ll handle the way the original ended.

    • Yes, finished filming.

    • Well as far as I can tell, Sean Bean is playing a completely different character. Odd.

      • imdb have Sean Bean playing 2 characters…
Harry Mason and Christopher De Silva(from 1st film)…
        Im confused already.

      • well that kind of fits for Silent hill though, look at Mary/Maria from silent hill 2.
it could turn out to be an important plot point in the film.

      • Worked well in the game, just hope I dont sit there completely confused as to which Sean Bean character im watching. Done well, this could be impressive (a la Maria/Mary)

      • The only thing I can think of is that he changes his name. But from what I remember of the first film (and I may be wrong havent watched it for ages), isn’t the daughter stuck in Limbo with her mum at the end?

      • i think the daughter made it back with her father.
it’s been a while since i’ve seen the first one, i’ll have to rewatch it before i see the sequel.

which hopefully isn’t too far away.

  2. I enjoyed the first one which caused me to become interested in the Silent Hill franchise. I hope they don’t pull a Resident Evil 3 on us and introduce elements that don’t belong in a Silent Hill product.

  3. SH3 was my favourite, lets hope the movie does the subject matter justice, unlike Resident Evil which started out good but now seems to just shoe-horn in crap for the latest game whether it fits or not.

    • The Silent Hill franchise has been doing that for the last two games anyway, and Downpour looks to be following suit. I’m really disappointed with how far SH has fallen from the tree.

      • Here, here. What once was my favourite game series has been rendered farcical by pish poor updates, much like Ring 0 did to to those films.

  4. Not getting my hopes up :/ Will more than likely be a massive let down, just like the games have been since about 2005.
I really wish they’d just kill it off now. Another awesome thing from my younger years ruined by the dollar.

  5. I’ll need to re-watch the first one just to remind myself what happened. I know my wife won’t be watching it with me this time – she hated it!
