Zeboyd Games has announced that the JRPG inspired Cthulhu Saves The World will be released on iOS, Android and Mac, as part of the games 1st Anniversary. A deal has been struck with Tinkerhouse Games to port the game to these platforms.

Cthulhu Saves The World will also be getting a permanent price drop on Xbox Live Indie Games service, costing just 80 MS Points. The game is also available on PC.

A statement released on Zeboyd’s site reads:

“With this new price drop on XBLIG and the game coming to new platforms later this year, I hope even more people will be able to experience the weird adventures of Cthulhu, his own personal fangirl Umi, and the rest.”

Since its release on December 30th 2010, Cthulhu Saves The World has sold over 150,000 copies. I’ve played the game and I found it a very enjoyable experience.

  1. Every time I hear Cthulhu I picture Old Gregg (of Mighty Boosh fame), not quite sure why – it’s slightly disturbing. Is this on Steam? I haven’t seen it around.

    • Wow. I totally forgot about Old Gregg. Borderline creepy weird meets hilarious. Now I have to watch it again. :D

  2. I got this and “Breath of Death VII: The Beginning” on Steam for some coal and other crap I gathered up during the holiday.

I’m still playing through Breath of Death, which is pretty awesome, and I think Cthulu Saves the World might just be even better as it’s budget seems to have been higher. The games are cheaper than dirt and offer hours of old-school JRPG fun. And the Steam versions offer 360 controller support as the standard control scheme. Probably cool on a handheld, but I feel that to really get in the groove on games like this, you need a controller.
