  1. So…
    – Azure’s Wrath demo, essentially one long QTE with a bit of steering/dodging;
    – FF13-2, certainly seems a lot less linear & also reminds me how much of a time-sync the titles are!

Serah’s halter neck sez I must finish the first XIII instalment first though.

    • *timeSINK not Sync, although there’s plenty of that…

      …and more complicated combat!

      • given what’s known about the plot of FFXIII 2 so far, time-synch could be an accurate description. ^_^

      • True that – very apt! Even my typos are cutting edge…

  2. anybody else played the Asura’s Wrath demo?

what the flippin eck was that all about?

i thought kratos was a one note character.

still, at least there’s some competition in the angriest man in gaming awards now. ^_^

as for the gameplay, QTE central, then QTE outskirts, then QTE countryside, in fact if QTE was a country, this game would be its prime minister, not my kind of place at all.

this looks like one of those games where i’d enjoy watching somebody else play rather than playing it myself.
    that’s why i love youtube. ^_^

i thought the FFXIII 2 demo was pretty cool though, the monster taming thing seems like it could get interesting, especially if you can get a behemoth later on.
i did discover that you could press R1 to get the moogle to make those half visible treasure spheres accessible.
i’m guessing that was something you get told about in an earlier chapter.

i’m not sure about the new version of the crystarium, but the game did seem more open than XIII, but then that was too small a section to get a proper idea.

anyway, i think i’ll be picking this one up at some point, sooner rather than later.

    • Very eloquently put & totally agreed.

    • I thought Asura’s Wrath was a bit of ridiculous fun, with it’s planet-sized enemies but i don’t see myself being interested beyond the demo.
FFXIII2 demo just put me off ever playing another FF game. I quit after 20 mins hammering away at the enemy with the only result being that his energy increased slightly. Definitely not for me.

  3. seems i was right about what scee’s intentions were when they changed the license agreement for the pick and mix minis.

for more info on the issue see here.

“I’m in Australia and support emailed me and told me to call them. I called them on a Saturday and the guy I spoke to told me he would get the PSN team to call me on the Monday. They never called, then I got an email yesterday (Wednesday) saying the product info states that it’s PS3 only and basically tough luck. I replied but haven’t heard back. I wasn’t particularly angry about all this until they pulled that shady act on me. I don’t appreciate being treated like an ignorant moron.”

they say that because the new license agreement says these minis are only for use on ps3 that they don’t have to do anything to fix the issue.

i’ve heard some crap excuses from scee before, but this is a flat out lie.
they know full well the license as it was at the time of purchase is the one that applies, not this thing they changed it to afterwards.

this is just criminal, it’s absolutely criminal.

there is simply no defence for this kind of action.
