Massive Attack Producer Scoring Halo 4

Massive Attack producer, Neil Davidge, will provide the score for Microsoft’s flagship FPS, Halo 4 later this year. Davidge has worked with Massive Attack since 1996, helping ot shape their seminal album “Mezzanine” including the stand out track “Teardrop”.

He’s also had a hand in various other high profile projects, including the additional score for The Clash of the Titans film.

Davidge spoke about the deeper personal journey for Master Chief in Halo 4 but hopefully he won’t stray too far from the iconic chants that have been tha hallmark of the excellent Halo soundtracks of the past.

Music has always been at the heart of what makes ‘Halo’ so captivating and iconic. With ‘Halo 4,’ we want to build upon the franchise’s amazing legacy and create a score that captures the awe and wonder of the ‘Halo’ universe, and reinforces the deeper and more emotionally impactful journey Master Chief will embark on.

There’s some more in-depth information and some behind the scenes images available on Halo Waypoint

  2. Sounds great. I like his style. Teardrop was the sound of Mirror’s Edge and has spawned some nice remixes. Let’s hope for more quality music.

  3. keeping an ear out for this one

  4. Looks like they really are aiming to freshen the game up.

  5. Great news as, much as I liked Marty’s work I did think the production was bad and that there was an overly large focus on the use of synthesised instruments, which just sounded cheesy.
