I know more about plumbing and car maintenance than I do about Tekken Tag Tournament, let alone the sequel. Rejoice indeed then to the sounds of Namco’s press department, who have handily provided much in the way of detail about said first person platformer.
The game promises the “largest player roster in Tekken history” with more than 50 characters, each with “expanded fight arsenals and move sets.” TTT2 will also feature “both one-on-one fighting and solo fighter vs. a tag-team battle, upending the current fighting game standards and making the game accessible for fans and newcomers alike.”
Crikey.
“In Pair Play mode,” the PR continues, “up to four players can each control a character in the ultimate team battle, while in the all new Fight Lab mode, players can customize the moves and appearance of new training character, Combot.”
“TEKKEN Tag Tournament is one of the most beloved entries in the TEKKEN series – not just among fans but also for myself and the entire development team, so crafting the sequel has been a labour of love for everyone here,” said Katsuhiro Harada, TEKKEN Project Director at NAMCO BANDAI GAMES Inc, the company with lots of CAPITAL LETTERS.
“To truly make this game stand up to the high benchmark set by the original, we have injected some exciting features and modes that will revolutionize the online fighting game community and allow new players to enjoy and master the game – so there will be something for everyone.”
The game’s out this September for PS3 and Xbox 360.

I came here for the Eddie Izzard reference, stayed for the trailer. TTT was one of my favorite launch titles for the ps2 (not that there were many choices) so very tempted to pick this up..

Loved the original Tekken Tag. I remember when I first got my PS2 (jese, I was about 12 years old!) I couldn’t decide if I wanted that or Timesplitters more. Opted for Timesplitters in the end but my dad stealthily got me a copy of Tekken as well :) Good times.

No Tekken Bowl no buy. Atleast not until it goes cheaper. As much as i enjoyed the original TTT Tekken bowl is what i spent most time playing.

I’ll give this a pop. Original was oodles of fun.
