Shawn McGrath’s been working on Dyad for some time now, and it doesn’t sound like it’s been a particularly smooth ride. It does – as you’ll see from the video above – look brilliant though, a clever music game that turns the genre on its head.
“Each of the game’s 27 different levels touch upon a variety of mechanics and goals: forming long combos, racing, surviving as long as possible, hitting certain top speeds and more,” he says on the PS Blog. “And the game’s 26 special Trophy levels have challenging alternate goals, whether it’s playing just by using sound or collecting objects as quickly as possible.”
“Since each level has a corresponding leaderboard to track online rankings, Dyad boasts a huge number of leaderboards — 52 in all, each requiring a unique set of skills to master.”
The game’s due out in the Summer.

Doesn’t really grab me I’m afraid.

I have literally no idea what to make of that. Visually it looks stunning but I can’t get my head around how it will even be played.
Aquastyle
Looks sweet, hypnotizing…

Looks like something I’ll enjoy so I’ll probably pick this up pretty quickly. Oh and kudos to the extremely small ‘team’ that made this.

For some reason this reminded me of the game Music 2000 for the ps2 its nothing like dyad, but you created music from thousand of different instrument and synth sounds. The vid just made me wish they did something like Music 2000 for the ps3.

After all the hype, Child of Eden didn’t really appeal to me but this one might still have a chance. It looks more like the kind of game you could ‘zone into’. Interesting and i’ll keep an eye on it.

This reminds me of Tempest 2000 with a touch of Audiosurf.
