Nintendo has released 4 new screenshots for recently announced title New Super Mario Bros 2, which will release on 3DS this August.
As well as New Super Mario Bros 2 announcement, Nintendo also announced Mario Tennis Open, which releases May 25th, as well as the ability to create folders on the 3DS, which will be available after a system update scheduled for April 25th.

Is it just me, or are these all looking pretty samey these days?
I have no doubt that the core gameplay will be as good as ever of course, but the screenshots above could esliy have been ripped from any Mario in the past decade or so (maybe longer than that??).

The upscaled pictures make it look more pixelated than Super Mario World – still the best Mario game of all time imo!

Can’t wait. Sure 2d Mario games are hardly innovative these days but there is no doubt they are platforming perfection and, most importantly, a tonne of fun
