My Final Thanks

So to wrap up, it’s only fair I give out thanks to the people who have helped me and the rest of the team along.

The first thank you goes to Peter and Alex, without whom I wouldn’t have been able to write these posts and present all of this in-depth data for you lot to read, I also wouldn’t have been able to moderate the old forum threads. But it’s not just the opportunity to write these posts, we’ve also been able to offer you lot the various Folding competitions we have.

Next up, the HTML monkey that is Alex, with more coding experience than myself he’s refined and optimised the code used in the folding scripts I produce for TSA. Stretching that, Alex has also done his best to help me with little code niggles over at SonyFantic.com.

One of the most important people to help me out with my role was the faithful Greg (Watchful). For the first 18 months of managing the team, he was the one who filled the gaps between the stats I collected. Let’s be honest, 2 pages of numbers and names is as dry as a mouthful of talcum powder.

The community team also gets a mention, as they’ll be looking after you from now. On the first weekend of each month, in the Community Round Up, they’ll include the basic team information just to remind you to keep on folding.

Finally the most important thanks, and it goes to each one of you folders, past and present. Without you, the team wouldn’t be a team and we wouldn’t have progressed to where we are now, both as a team and as a part of the global project. After all, every WU done by you, is another less to do by the rest of the folding community, and the faster we all submit WU’s, the sooner the possibility of curing the diseases Folding@home helps to understand.

To future, prospective members, I say, what are you waiting for? You have the chance to be part of a cure for the major diseases the global population faces and in most cases it doesn’t even effect how your device runs.

Thank you, and goodbye.

  1. You’ve done a great job over the years Jas-n and I wish you well in your uni work, cheers.
Great to see I’ve won a badge, totally forgot about it so was a very nice surprise.

  2. Thanks, and there was only 13 comments on the last post, so everyone was a winner.Just need to drop me an email now :).

  3. Good look with your future projects and Uni Jas-n! If it wasn’t for these updates I (and probably many others) would have never known about the TSA folding team. It is a wonderfully spirited team for which I have taken to and competed ‘slightly’ with – and it’s all for a good cause :). If electricity was cheaper and/or I didn’t have to pay the bills whilst at Uni myself, I would love to keep investing my time and £££ in building number crunchers. Again, thanks for your time in writing these pieces and all the hard work that you’ve done in the background!

  4. ok imagine forest gump…
