Ahead of Nintendo’s full E3 conference on Tuesday, the Wii U manufacturer are holding a special presentation tonight with some exclusive details about their new console.
We’re not sure quite what these details will be – whether there’s price tag, release date, some hardware specs or a look into some of the upcoming software is up in the air – but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on if you’re interested; there could be a few surprises, though I’m sure they’ll be saving the big guns for Tuesday.
We’ll report all of the news here, but Nintendo are streaming the event live on their Japanese website if you feel like seeing it for yourself. The presentation starts at 11pm UK time, so get into your pyjamas with your milk and cookies and have a soothing Nintendo livestream put you to sleep.

all the hype for e3 has got me really impatient, tuesday morning seems really far away.

My E3 has begun already with the podcast so yes, i’ll be watching this and everything i can over next few days!
hazelam
that site says GMT, but we’re in BST right now, which is, one hour forwards, or one hour back, i can never remember.
anyway, does that mean it’ll be an hour later, or earlier, than 11pm?
hazelam
i just had a thought, yeah, alert the press ^_^
i wonder if you’ll be able to stream that on the wii. o_O

I’m going to watch it, if the stream works…
I am planning on watching as much E3 stuff as I can this year.

looks remarkably like the 360 pad, except with both sticks at the top, i don’t know why ms don’t have their pad that way.
anyway, i like the look of that.
i’d love a version of that for the wii.

What is everyones thoughts then? Personally I wasn’t wow-d but I think they have some nice ideas there. Would have been nice to see some actual games but I guess that is what their conference is for later this week.

The presentation itself won’t win any prizes for production values.
The Miiverse seems like an interesting idea, but I don’t like having all games filled with comments and crap.
TV-remote functionality is handy, but ultimately unneccesary.
I’m not sold yet, but at least they have my attention. I wonder how many of these features wiil (hehe) be done by sony and ms?

This is the first time the Wii U has actually peaked my interest – I’ve had every Nintendo system (except the Virtual Boy!) but I’m not convinced yet where the Wii U will fit. Will it be powerful enough? Will they have decent third party support? Not long to find out either way!
