Sony has announced that Ratchet & Clank Trilogy has gone gold. The celebrated action platformer/shooter/comedy show/indescribable purveyor of joy will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 29th of June, two days after the rest of Europe trundles wheelbarrows full of near-worthless Euro down the high street to buy it.
The game, well three games, are looking good and for those of you too young to remember the PlayStation 2 classics (or too engrossed in Grand Theft Auto games and Pro Evolution Soccer – as I was) it’s a perfect chance to catch up on one of Sony’s most endearing series.

Seeing as though the GoW & ICO collection games are getting remote play on Vita, Im hopefull that the rest of the HD colletions will get the similar treatment.

I see they kept Ratchet’s original voice in the first game, where he sounds like a surfer and acts like a douche for half the game :S

I think the two retail PS3 games of Ratchet and Clank Future were immense but the originals were just masterclass platforming action. 1 is slow to start given the lack of weapons and abilities that the character has but in 2 you start off with some of those abilities and the levelling up mechanics on the guns add a whole new depth to 1 and then 3 is just super with it’s extra vehicles, slick levelling up system and nifty gadgets and weapons which can be found across the series along with one heck of a fantastic storyline, well worth £25 for 1 let alone all 3!

It was mega postponed, supposed to be released on 18th May, then 25th May, then 8th June, now 29th June. Or so I was lead to believe by my updated preorder emails. I have no idea what was causing the delay but I’m glad it seems more than safe to bet it’s final release date is 29th June.

Day one for me, my daughter loves the ratchet and clank series.Also another 3D game to add to my collection.
